Walking with the King: Exploring the Book of Matthew
The Book of Matthew is often called the "bridge" between the Old and New Testaments, and for good reason. As the first book of the New Testament, it presents Jesus not just as a teacher, but as the long-awaited Messiah and King. Matthew carefully records the genealogy of Jesus, His miraculous birth, and His ministry, organizing His teachings into five major discourses. From the famous Sermon on the Mount to the Great Commission, this Gospel provides a comprehensive look at who Jesus is and what His arrival means for the world.
But this book is far more than just a history lesson; it is a practical guide for living in the modern world. In Matthew, we find Jesus addressing the very struggles we face today—how to handle anxiety, how to resolve conflict, and how to treat our neighbors. Whether it is learning to pray through the Lord’s Prayer or understanding what it means to be "salt and light" in our community, the Book of Matthew challenges us to take our faith off the page and apply it to our daily decisions, relationships, and work.
We invite you to grow with us as we dive deeper into these scriptures. By reading and reviewing the lineage we find that Jesus birth was a planned event. He came as a savior for all people. (Acts 2:21) As we look at the names throughout the lineage we God can use anyone, regardless of their past.
